Do No Harm

When I am hurt
Not only is trust broken
But trauma awakens

And trauma demands to be felt �
It commands the body into
Flight, fight or freeze
The mind of unreleased turmoil
Spinning into irrationality
For it is all that
Trauma knows to comprehend

When trauma decides you are
Public enemy number one
There is no door back
But only the rubble of misunderstanding

When you hurt me you disrespect
All of the past versions of myself
That have tried to expand

I am tired of reinventing myself
To have trauma tell me
That I�m not good like this

But mostly I forget
Do no harm
Isn�t only for everyone else

I hope I realize
Do no harm
Includes myself
