You’ve spent so long convincing yourself that you’ll never be loved
That sometimes you look at yourself in the chanced-upon gaze
Of a seeing surface and think that maybe it’s not true
That you don’t have to be the abuse statistic
The suicide marker but can crawl up through dirt
To stand on the grave and be renewed

I do hope this isn't a self-introspective but rather an observation. I can't imagine you thinking you are unloved. You are one of my favorite people and poets here on DU. If it's observational, it's a very impactful piece filled with hope and encouragement for someone who feels unloved.
