Pure Heart
You asked her out
To a fancy restaurant
And she said no
You were just a friend to her
Nothing more, nothing less
You asked her out
On a sunny beach
With red roses
And she said yes
You thought you finally had her
Yet just the other day
I caught a glimpse of her
In a dark lit bar
She was completely drunk
As she made out with another guy
And I told you what I saw
But you turned a blind eye
Because you loved her
And you still wanted to believe
She felt the same about you
But the truth is
That she does not deserve
The pure heart in your chest
That you opened to her
And she just took and left
To a fancy restaurant
And she said no
You were just a friend to her
Nothing more, nothing less
You asked her out
On a sunny beach
With red roses
And she said yes
You thought you finally had her
Yet just the other day
I caught a glimpse of her
In a dark lit bar
She was completely drunk
As she made out with another guy
And I told you what I saw
But you turned a blind eye
Because you loved her
And you still wanted to believe
She felt the same about you
But the truth is
That she does not deserve
The pure heart in your chest
That you opened to her
And she just took and left
