Breath of Life

We share the same breath of life with beasts.
We are formed from the same clay.
In the primal dance of our naked flesh,
The essence of our being is revealed.

To love, to touch, to feel with unshackled heart,
Is to embrace the stark, unvarnished truth
Of our existence. Let us exult in passion's fire
While youth's fervor still burns bright,
For in these wild moments of abandon,
We are most in tune with the earth's eternal rhythm.

Author's Note
I continue to unearth photos of mother during her last couple of years. This one startled me but inspired the thoughts in this poem. I edited it to change the lighting. Mother really did experienced the "unvarnished truth of our existence" while she was alive.
