What Loves Are Still Mine to Know - A Breakup Poem for Joseph
It’s a promise too heavy for my heart to hold,
So I wonder, what loves are still mine to know?
I wasn’t born for a life-long tether,
But meant to find love’s newest glow.
Stars whisper secrets, their paths unknown,
True, when we made love, my spirit soared.
I’m not a single cloth but many.
Each thread a new color to be adored.
So, I lift your hand to the sky above,
The love we’ve known I’ll never erase.
But I’ll walk toward the new sounds of fate,
And find my joy in your forgiveness and grace.
