For My Sister On Her Birthday

I know that we aren't as close as we could be  
But somewhere inside you'll always be a part of me  
 
The craziness of this life that we both lived through  
There are times I only survived cuz of you  
 
We had each other and sometimes I treated you bad  
But the truth is I knew we were all that we had  
 
I think back on the days when were young and naive  
We always got each others back this I know and believe  
 
Our childhood gave us both crosses to bear  
Mental afflictions that will always be there  
 
I lost the ability to show people how much they mean  
But I'm taking this opportunity to tell you that you are seen  
 
We may not have the closeness of those days gone by  
But if you ever need anything on me you can rely  
 
I know I don't tell you often enough that I love you  
But I hope you know that in my own way I do
