A beautiful image of you
I wonder In months of memories
Feeling your soft breath
As gosling wings stutter
Sweet persimmons and poetry whisper
Windmill chimes and watercolor rhymes
On canvas, I swish where tall reeds climb
Pads of green in the ponds they sew
Like placemat sets they sit silently
On still waters of calm
As loons croon mournful tunes
Butterflies swoon with petals and flowers

Have you read "The Goldfinch"? That's a Mississippi author from the Delta. Pulitzer.

No, I haven't. I moved from the big city to the glades of SE Georgia. A very small town.

So, GoldFinch is not at all about small town Mississippi - it's not about Mississippi at all; not even mentioned. The venue goes from NY City Manhattan to Vegas, and I'm not sure from there. It's a very sophisticated piece, poetic prose, extremely descriptive and thought provoking. Art is a central issue as it relates to the past and present, but the whole work is a complexity with a sort of melancholy foundation of trials and events for the protagonist. I find it deep and challenging, particularly exploring the characters and their relationships.
