A Bed on Fire

So cold  
 
Frigid to the touch  
Sheets of white ice  
Laid upon a frozen bed.  
   
Unexpected warmth  
Falling ice sickles  
Cold flesh goosed.  
 
Eyes  
Heated intensity  
Mirror’s Gabriel’s Inferno  
 
Cold pushes forward  
Heat pushed back  
And won  
 
Shirt torn.  
From fevered  
Flesh  
 
Dress  
Melts away  
Revealing  
 
Body laid.  
And spread.  
A crystal butterfly  
 
Smoke rising.  
Framing a body  
That is there to consume  
 
With a deep intake  
Of moistened  
Air  
 
His scorching  
Staff  
Melts  
 
Movement  
Ingrained  
From the dawn of existence  
 
Dry’s the drenched sheets  
 
First wave  
Descends  
Crys of  
Need  
 
Second wave  
Panting  
Clawing  
Biting  
Smoke  
Rising  
 
Third wave  
Total  
Incineration  
Fire  
Steam  
A cacophony  
Of screams
