Griefs Reluctance (short)
Days pull, slips, from out the tress
Of loving now, or “might have been”
Forever bound, yet now confess
Id rather serve than master this
Abundant locks, untethered swing
And dance across my grinning eyes
This could have been your everyday
If your prescriptions you’d imbibe
So sterile doctor, long awaits
The chances he’d presume to teach
While clock drifts on, in memories song
Her warmth still just within his reach.
Of loving now, or “might have been”
Forever bound, yet now confess
Id rather serve than master this
Abundant locks, untethered swing
And dance across my grinning eyes
This could have been your everyday
If your prescriptions you’d imbibe
So sterile doctor, long awaits
The chances he’d presume to teach
While clock drifts on, in memories song
Her warmth still just within his reach.
