From what I recall

You were once
as pleasing
as summer winds
brushing my cheek
under plum trees.

I'd have stood
the world,
on its head
to prolong your kisses;
those miracles
ignorant of time
and vaporous years.

But like all mirages,
you faded
making me
in the end
a forgotten shadow
when your infatuation
expired.

Through wisdom,
I've learned.

At least once in life
some of us
will be forgotten
and discarded

like the pit of a plum
