THE OTHER SIDE

WE
must not forget
or get taken away
by fancy words
about love and romance.

All of this may be true
but there is another side;
a side where resides
hurts and many challenges.

Like any art form
love must be "worked on";
not occasionally at a whim,
but on a daily basis.

Love must never be
taken for granted;
it must be nourished and
given new life each day.

There is no greater need for lovers
than to remember and practice
the other side where love requires work:
commitment of mind, heart, and soul.
