No Afterlife
this sounds sad
& it probably is
but i see life as
an endless road
of suffering and
Death as relief
years ago i saw
my GP she said
she believes that
we have to work
harder after we're
dead, well damn it
it made me ponder
what if i meet my
parents up there
the people who
almost drove me
to commit suicide
& i can't kill myself
cause i already died
& it probably is
but i see life as

Death as relief

I can see your point, as maudlin as it is. I too have wondered about who we would meet in the afterlife. Would we be separated from those we despise? Would we have to relive our lives on heaven's/hell's movie screen and go through all the trauma again? So many questions.
Many feel the way you do and have taken their own lives. But by doing so, is there a chance they missed an eye-opening experience that could have changed it all? I have no answers.

Thank you so much for your extensive comment, Dragonblood. I know there are many who feel / felt this way. Even though the thoughts about suicide have been there, I would never end my life because I believe it's not my decision to make.
The afterlife is indeed a great big unknown. There's indeed many questions.

There's too much boon on Earth, than to look forward to The Heavens
A bird in hand is better than ten upon a tree,
There are angels here, we know, angels there are only metaphore...
se lets enjoy our stay down here and give the best to us and to others.

It's a hard thought to contemplate. Something tells me though that wherever you wind up...your parents won't be in the same place. It's small consolation, but worth a thought. I believe they have a shit ton of karma to work through before they can hope to achieve the level you'd be working through. Sending love, sis 💖

I was sitting here contemplating your poem when I read Willow’s statement.
I believe she’s correct.

Dear D,
I’m hoping for a private cloud somewhere in the south of heaven. Far away from any relatives or acquaintances who did not bring me joy. This poem is existential on a whole other level. I, too, found myself cogitating on what the after life will bring. Your excellent write has proven very thought provoking. H🌷

I think those whose ponder such things can really relate to this, I've often thought about this subjects from many perspectives - it's random to say I know but it reminded me of when you taking a trip on a plan, you plan get all your shit together and just as you leave your house you just think fuck it, I've got my wallet, clothes and passport we'll see what happens lol great write as always:)
