Metamorphosis
Maybe I don’t hate myself anymore…
I used to be consumed
By a deep self-loathing
But I’m learning now
How to be self-forgiving
I used to be burdened
By traumatic memories
But the memories are fading
And being replaced
With notions of fortitude
With newfound grace
Growing in self-love
Growing in strength
No longer disturbed
By tragic past times
I have finally returned
To my rhythm and rhyme

Part of maturity is the realization that tragedy is an intrinsic part of nature, so much so, that Shakespeare classified entire plays with that label.
Then, we must utilize that understanding to motivate us into the regular use of foresight in order to minimize the tragedy.

This is what we must strive for. Happy for your progress. From my experience, we must stay vigilant. I find it easy to take 2 or 3 steps forward and then stumble back 4 or 5. I wish you well.

Vigilance is key, but damn it can be hard. I too take steps backward regularly. But these past 2 weeks have been relatively “okay” without much disturbance. Thank you for the well wishes, keep up the fight.

I might say my seeds of self-love are only beginning to sprout, but haven’t quite bloomed yet. There is much work still to be done. Thank you for your feedback, stay strong poetess.
