The Lady Blue (The Dreams)

Our affair began that night There was already a party planned at my house for after my audition. When I asked Gary if he wanted to come he said he wouldn't miss it for anything. I knew we were going to make love for the very first time in my very own bed. How was I so sure? I saw it happening in a dream one night.

I guess I should explain about the dreams. For as long as I can remember I have special dreams sometimes that present themselves as glimpses of the future. My mother had them, too, though not nearly as often as I did. She had a fancy name for them but over the years I seem to have forgotten it. I was never really bothered by the dreams, until one of them for told the death of both of my parents.

It happened one night when I was nineteen years old. It took place on our yacht during a party they were having on Lake Ponchartrain.
My parents were not alcoholics but did upon occasion over drink. That night everyone got drunk and started acting strange. My mother decided to take a swim but she could barely do it. My paw was oblivious at first but when ma disappeared somehow in the pa began to miss her. So naturally, he jumped in the lake to look for her. They were later both discover on the other side of the lake. They both had drowned to death.

It always bothered me to know I was supposed to be on that boat that night but I wasn't. I stayed home because I was suffering from a lot of pain while menstruating. The night before it happened I had a dream that my parents would die that night. I begged them not to go because of that fact alone. They dismissed my pleas saying they were good swimmers and nothing would happen to them. But something went terribly wrong. It was such a a low time in my life. Even though I am filthy rich now from my parents inheritance to me, I mourned deeply at their deaths.
