This reminds me of the metaphor of a window.  Looking outside to see the sun, you close the curtain.  Hah.  I know it's about the journey of life and death, and you do a good job of capturing that.  Perhaps you've developed a strong taste for darkness and feel as though coming out of that could blind you.  Maybe an uncertainty, maybe a strong conviction.  Either way, good job at using the metaphors that you did in this.  That's just one potential interpretation that I see.  Another one could be like fame and glory, wanting to see the light.  You hope not to be blinded by the success, as the curtain closes on the stage of your act.  Just another interpretation, heh.  Anyway, great job.  Thanks for sharing.
