Once Upon a Time
Somewhere on the sea of time
In the infinite
You are mine
That deepest green
A sea of jade
Your eyes
*
Quintessence
Your soul entwined with mine
Without the violence of words
The birthing of lies
First sweetly heard
But in that moment
Gaze lost in mine
Be still
Love isn't a sound
Understandings need no words
Let me kiss you again
As if your kiss was life
And to live without
Was but to die
There by the tumbled scree and slide
That once were cliffs
Which proud faced the sun
Undone as we by the pounding of waves
Our hearts beat just as loud
Raced, as devil may care
And danced when you were near
We can never be less than these
The heights we've assailed
Though we sail on fleeting seas
In the majesty of travail
The violence of the waves
Their rise and fall
And in the depths cover me
Cover me
Like you
The cascade of your hair
Falling
Auburn
Pooling
Raining kisses down
As I lay and wish to drown
In the arms of your desires
Smother me
Once we traced the border of the stars
Fingers on skin
Dreamed dreams, breathed desires
That rarest of airs
Once I held everything when I held your hand
Held fire
My only care
And will again
Some dreams never end
We've fallen like angels
From a more heavenly sphere
And so the more fervently
Wish upon stars
To hold you again
And ride upon winds
Walk with me
The mountains of memory
Moonlight on pine
And pristine pool
You rose a goddess there
Body silver'd slick
Streamlets running from your hair
And willing, as only ardent can be
Fire mingled with water
And I
Drunk on your wine
Erupted and burned
That's where we truly are
Where stars fail
Before sun first pierces the veil
Strong in the newness of all
Knowing only to answer love's call
The dizzying of heights
The profound beyond measure
Of depths
The unknown but knowing
Awash in sweet feeling
That it was you
Meant for me
Evergreen
In the infinite
You are mine
That deepest green
A sea of jade
