Image for the poem Don’t you think

Don’t you think

Don’t you think
you not talking to me
constitute a stab
in the heart?

You could at least
have given me a kiss
sent me away
on my way to hell

You could at least
have sent me word,
told me a lie,
or gave me a heads start

What have I done
to deserve all that
to cast me aside
like a broken shell

If I had known
what your love did
I would have left
or we stayed apart

If ever you do care for me,
then help me cure
your curse
and all that it has befell

If I had known
how deep your ocean ran
I wouldn’t have sailed
before I made a chart

For years we played,
our souls swayed,
until you made me fall
in your spell

If I still mean anything to you
I deserve to know the truth.
I deserve to know
why we fell apart

Now that I am missing you,
you have to help me
undo that which
your fire quell

Don’t you think
you running away
constitute a breach
of our contact

That which was written
in blood, in every word,
in every letter
I did spell

We agreed to live,
to love, to remain
as friends
until death do us part.

Wherever you are
Wherever your sail did set
remember you still have a friend
and you’ll always be in his heart.
