Resilience

Sometimes I tire
of being resilient
never broken
yet often I am bent

An ardent longing
quietly in existence
not constantly met with
discomfort and resistance

Is it excessive
to desire such peace?
avoiding pain
wishing its cease

Craving relief
from what is unfair
respite required
unanswered prayer

Aware of lessons
meant to be learned
an uncomplicated path
I believe I have earned

Paid due diligence
my biography
awaiting a fair turn
to live in harmony
