Remains
Don't come to me with promises of eternal love,
not even with looks that promise hell.
I already know this road, this path
where every step is a thorn.
Don't enchant me with soft words
nor promises of new dances.
I already know that at the end of the song,
all that remains is loneliness.
Don't talk to me about burning passion
and not from a heart that lies.
I've seen this movie, I already know the ending,
where love is just a gale.
Don't promise me the brightness of the stars
and don't fill me with beautiful hopes.
I've sailed these seas
where dreams are just air.
Don't get all romantic with me,
I already know the weight of attachment.
Where every gesture is a theater
and each word is another portrait.
So spare me your cheap charm,
and your romance which is just an act.
I prefer the naked truth
than a fantasy that continues.
Because I, my dear, already know this boredom.
I've already paraded at this carnival and felt this cold,
I already know the mask for this dance
where love is nothing more than a rehearsal.
