God's Closet
Lay down your limitations
and reach above---
how much can the sky, hold?
Can you feel the rain
and rungs on Jacob's ladder?
Or the tingle that preceeds
thunder?
The rush of air
beneath bird's wings
and the manna that fell on dry deserts.
Push aside their chemtrails--
they are no match
for the heat of the sun
and blessings that drop
into our souls , from above.
Do you hear the breath of God
as winds blow
dandelion puffs
across your skin?
Ignore the roar
of bombs and plane engines
warring in heavy air--
they fall to the sea
and are swallowed up in defeat.
Raise your arms,
O, raise them and receive--
all that awaits in the storehouse of Heaven!
You need not sight
to know it's there, only
faith to touch the sky
and hand of God.
