Beginning to Live / For Callie
She remembered the day she
decided to live her life. No longer
would her study consist of gleaning wisdom
from the words of others but in taking actions
based on her understanding of those words and
lives represented by those words.
So when she read "eat and drink like a human being,"
she began to celebrate each bite of food.
When the philosopher said, "love like a
human being for God's sake," she made herself
available for love, celebrating every human touch,
especially the most intimate.
