The Desire within a Storm
In this endless, soundless solitude.
In the perpetual lonesome winds
of this dark evening,
you appear
Your white pale face
cold as a cloud
Light-less like the moon
Turned towards the enormous sky.
From a far-away land I tremble
with the unbearable agony of desire
Framing your porcelain face,
thin wisps of tame-less hair tremble
in the dark wind
Fingers extended, in pain?
In passion?
In prayer?
The corner of the sky grows heavy
clustering cathedral clouds
merging sky and earth
Flashes of longing tear through
with repeated ferocity
Penetrating, invasive
assault
Tidal waves of love
seeking to burst forth in tremendous ecstasy,
agitating the unbounded distances
within the darkness
The sombre complexion
of a reflective unmoving land
You turn your bloodless face towards life
Your breasts are like undulations of a land
that has wept itself to weary,
stagnating stillness
You stretch out your anxious, waiting arms,
long-expectant, prayer-tired,
towards that relentlessly enormous sky
Darkness clusters around them
A thousand musical notes,
each a singular, self-contained,
orchestrated symphony,
reverberating in the multitudinous winds
Slowly creation reaches readiness
As if in one terrible, blessedly sweet moment,
the clouds of its desire break forth
in bolts of unbearable thunder
Impetuous fulmination,
a fractured, shredding line
Crushing remorselessly,
piercing the middle of your unclothed chest
equivocally eager, upturned
towards the total bliss of union
Then, banishing all obscurity
from this wet, dishevelled, tumbledown world
Transpires a beautifully cool
caressing morning.
