Uncondtional Love

it is beautiful what you do...

loving me unconditionally
you make me forget
that is your greatest kindness to me
forget that I'm a tyrant
a spoiled child
throwing a tantrum

I think to myself this is wisdom while learning life's lessons
then when a nerve is hit
I lose my shit
letting cruelty drip from my tongue
it hurts when the tide goes out
because it washes back in again
and my soul is left drowning in regret

not for any one person
but for your children
your instruments
Father what are you doing here
proving your case to me face-to-face

I suppose you could have set me adrift the day I was born, utterly alone
I am amazed you still love me
you correct me

you're the only one who can reason with me
no one else knows my language
