A choice
For a long time in my life
I dreamed of doing something great
Of fame and glory
As we idolize it so fatally
So wrongly, as I came to see
Greatness is not my path
I am an ordinary person
And I love being ordinary
For society is kept alive by ordinary people
Without ordinary people societies would die
I do not need to be the one
I like being one of many
For great or not, fundamentally we are all the same anyway
I choose
A life of modesty and humility
Of doing the good things I can do
And letting that be enough
For I have longed to find that for so long
That feeling of „enough“
I choose balance
In all things
I renounce any extreme
I choose
Goodness
I dreamed of doing something great
Of fame and glory
As we idolize it so fatally
So wrongly, as I came to see
Greatness is not my path
I am an ordinary person
And I love being ordinary
For society is kept alive by ordinary people
Without ordinary people societies would die
I do not need to be the one
I like being one of many
For great or not, fundamentally we are all the same anyway
I choose
A life of modesty and humility
Of doing the good things I can do
And letting that be enough
For I have longed to find that for so long
That feeling of „enough“
I choose balance
In all things
I renounce any extreme
I choose
Goodness
