Time's Up
In a blind rage of all or nothing
the ghost of our God stole in
to stare at the fools in the mirror
and ask them what they'd seen
Our finest years grew heartless
as we became dead to His call
sorry lives controlled by greed
such sad existence with no heart at all
So what message would He offer
to our soulless desert of pain
where twilight covers the sun
through clouds of acid rain
If I was God I'd tell the truth
knowing humans cannot change
Our design was always flawed
and Earth must start again
the ghost of our God stole in
to stare at the fools in the mirror
and ask them what they'd seen
Our finest years grew heartless
as we became dead to His call
sorry lives controlled by greed
such sad existence with no heart at all
So what message would He offer
to our soulless desert of pain
where twilight covers the sun
through clouds of acid rain
If I was God I'd tell the truth
knowing humans cannot change
Our design was always flawed
and Earth must start again
