Hero, Monster or God
"Mythology can be defined as the sacred history of humankind. "
- Gerald Hausman
Peggysoarus
As silvered wings
shrug off the gale,
night descends long
her spectre pale.
High above it all,
soaring in the mists;
a soul gallops untethered
in a heavenly tryst.
To feel her heart beat
is to flutter great wings
and drift into sleep
as moondust she brings.
A creature of myth
birthed from aspiration --
look to the star cluster
and view minds creation.

"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become
a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back
into you."
- Friedrich Nietzsche
Freekenomind
Hollow eyes, plastic hair;
only a cyborg to ahead stare.
Single minded or no mind;
heart in stasis not unkind.
Given to walk with legs unflexed;
looked upon with sight perplexed.
Grave the unnatured unsmiling pout,
granted no throat to even shout.
A creature fashioned of sadist plans,
likening to programmable hands.
Dystopian nosoul only penned about
in a wild imaginations restless bout.
Made to fit clothes with features gaunt --
fashioned to be what others want.

Kraken Up
Part the sea, do your bid
you snorting aberration!
See if you can tsunami
our kind out of existence.
Your feral snarl is intentionable
and your scales impermeable.
Not much of a heart under there
it would seem..
I mean you are laughable --
as if you could sink a ship
by thrashing your flimsy
flip flopping tentacles
at the lowest hanging fruit
in your short upward reach.
Inspiring drawings of scrimshaw
is your biggest achievement.
Go on, threaten our masses
you mythical beast of lore,
I don't believe you are out there.
A bunch of drunken sailors
with their sea stories
where no others survive but them
to relay the tall tale, so go on
swim back into archetypal oblivion
and do us a favor
stay there..

"In your head they are fighting, in your head they are dying"
-from 'Zombie', The Cranberries
War Inside
Grave the game was
played once before now,
not seeming so far gone
not even how.
...The war is inside
Tattered remains of
threads still stained
cling to mud and grime
worn loosely still now.
...The war is inside
A fortress where
the covert subject hides
from his worst enemy
and all who would chide.
...The war is inside
To recall the chattering
rip through heavy air
waiting for the smattering
the seasoned try not to care
...The war is inside.
To never emerge
from the cause at hand
a hero remains fraught
with steady and full command
...The war is inside.

"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere
and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles."
- Christopher Reeve
Heroistic
Deep within my mind
heroes bend bars
travel from Mars
encircle the globe
and visit the stars
then simply land
to greet the ordinary.
Penned in respect
of heroic dialect
and the ever striving
for some great return
to the just cause
ever shared in union
by all who understand
comprehend.
Humble words
can't contain the feats
of hearts on their sleeves
laid bare by opposition
forged in submission
and furthur than expected
or ever thought possible
ascend graciously.
To reach higher than
imaginable is never easy
but wings must be used
to remain functional
for the smaller things
the true hero cannot fly
but to the hardest realms
and still love all of it.
