"A lot" is two words and I don't think you need the comma in such a short poem. It just disrupts the flow.
Otherwise this is an interesting, almost philosophical evocation of a simple idea. It had a surprising impact on me, and encouraged sympathy for a narrator only glimpsed.

a whole lot of lifetime emotions summed up I get the feel...
I love short ,strong & as Jack rightly pointed out, ith some philosophical facet to it..
