Image for the poem Delicate

Delicate

You have always shed a tear or two for your playground
Where you longed for a mate
Where you always played alone

And then one day someone comes
Someone you call a lover
Where you used to sing 'This used to be my playground'
And you feel awkward
As if your muscles do not respond
As if your mouth can not make the right sounds
To utter a word

And you feel you do not deserve it
And you feel a strong urge to go to that creature in pain
Eaten by loneliness
Because for God's sake
It was real.
