Approaching Rubicon
deep in my heart a flame burns
thoughts of yesterdays
make my spirit yearn
to undo some wrongs
correct some mistakes
and say something unsaid
my thoughts go inwards
recollecting ugly scenes
that could have been avoided
words that shouldn't be uttered
voices that should be lowered
hands that shouldn't have slapped
I dreamt of all of my friends
those that have left for Glory
their last embraces or words
members of my family
that I owe apologies to
looking back I wish I had
the shadows grow long
the sun approaches the west
soon the night will fall
how can I know if
tomorrow's sun
rise for
me
thoughts of yesterdays
make my spirit yearn
to undo some wrongs
correct some mistakes
and say something unsaid
my thoughts go inwards
recollecting ugly scenes
that could have been avoided
words that shouldn't be uttered
voices that should be lowered
hands that shouldn't have slapped
I dreamt of all of my friends
those that have left for Glory
their last embraces or words
members of my family
that I owe apologies to
looking back I wish I had
the shadows grow long
the sun approaches the west
soon the night will fall
how can I know if
tomorrow's sun
rise for
me
