Sweet Refrain

perfumed branches, virgin flowers
fauna stir in dawn's early hours
blushed mauve hues with warm, gentle rains
amours singing in sweet refrain

first fruits are plucked 'neath shades of green
tranquil sighs, along trails upstream
beside the waters, where they've lain
amours singing in sweet refrain

strolling through endless golden fields
harvest surrenders its last yield
velvet pastures and satin plains
amours singing in sweet refrain

white cotton blankets, frozen ground
lonely footprints without a sound
hyacinth mem'ries bring great pain
no more singing in sweet refrain
