Hi Stranger

HI STRANGER

I would love to be honest,
We met in the strangest
Of circumstances,
Both in such intense emotions
Beyond ourselves.

One in a feeling of deep hurt,
Sorrow and no desire
To feel anything at all.
And the other in a deep fear
Of losing a person not met before,
A stranger really.

Stories shared but,
At this point zero trust
And unsure of what is,
And what is not.
But the feelings felt were actual,
In a real, pure honest way.

The other knew that
If this stranger goes,
I will live with this loss
The rest of my life.
And there was strength to fight,
And prayers prayed when defeat
Was heavily felt.

In the arms of the Lord
The stranger was placed,
And asked the only one
Who could to preserve,
Not out of a good deed
But because the stranger felt personal.
Like one known intensely
In a previous life,
Or one that belonged to the other.

Deep anger filled both
As each desired to be understood.
One inviting the other
Into the place of pain
Without words,
But hoping the silence
Will be heard loud enough.

The other angry
At how this stranger does not see
How much value the world had,
Because of mere existence.
By the world she meant her world.
To care deeply for a stranger,
To love immensely a person unknown,
To fear greatly mistakes
That could possibly be made,
When strangers
Do not feel like strangers
And you want to share your all
PAUSE.

We are not promised tomorrow,
But we will not be reckless today,
A day at a time,
A breath, then two then three.
Honest truth and respectful
PAUSE.

There is a lifetime
And eternity stranger,
I worry not, you worry not.
If not on this side of heaven,
Then on the other.
Hello stranger,
It is so good to meet you
And know you.
