A POET’S EMPTINESS
A POET’S EMPTINESS
I sit here in a gaze trying to find a way to fill the void
I have these tears which are falling down to my feet
I have this unexplainable pain which is pledging my heart
If you were to place your ear to my chest… hear the stir of echoes within
I cry out for help within but no one hears me
Please place my soul in a rocket and shoot me to the moon
Place me there alone with my thought for this is the hell in which befalls my heart
Why I feel this way… I really do not know
I feel so lost like desert prison in which I roam freely never finding the reason so
Searching for these answers have been a burden to me which adds to the stress
Flashing in my mind… past present and a distant future, which fades into my mind
Closing my eyes is worst then death itself for my mind is like a movie replaying painful scenes
But what is the source of these feelings… the birth of this pain which provides this poet’s emptiness
