New Year's Day (Reveille) Reprise
New Year's Day (Reveille)
This morning, if the coffee's not on call,
Another beverage may well suffice:
I take it undiluted: your shot's small;
It may be served inaccurately, twice;
Or even a quadruple; I can't tell
Exactly how demanding you will be;
And whether you will splash after you swell;
Or, if you'll enjoy heat and, then, freely
Paint my palate white with manly cream;
The only noisettes here are your full balls,
That need release, just as you need the dream
To prove my tongue can dance a pleasing waltz
And suitably address each vivid spurt,
In this: your private new year's day concert.
