Twilight Furrows

Twilight Furrows

The evenin' stretchs out somber shadows
Snaking slowly, across the deep furrows
And the far distance holds a fainting glow
It's time then, for a regretful adieu ........!

Between the pines, walking the outworn lane
An endless path, watching a sun that wanes
Among fiery mist, and  a blinking ray,
A path, that holds remains of yesterday

Burnt umber land, turned at december's throes
Lonely sparrow and a pack of black crows
A whole year flew by, the idles lands lie
Yet, no time when emotion rise to cry

The future awaits the ripe time to sow.............
twilight furrows lie bare, like sweatless brow
