Otherworld
Here we are, entire oceans apart
Always knew how to end, never to start
This world was never meant for us
And as hard as we tried, we could never adjust
We were cast aside, presumed dead on arrival
Always struggled to find the means of survival
Just two souls among billions, hoping for a reason
To it all in a nutshell before our time was done
We would stare at the stars, expecting to find
A better place; such a composition of the mind
A figment of imagination, but we didn’t care
We’d block out this world, and pretend we were there
But this philosophy couldn’t sustain you for long
You told me “take me there, or I’m gone”
When I couldn’t, it was over, then you left for the sky
Now I’m feeling so run down, I could almost die
If I could’ve made it last, it would’ve lasted forever
But it’s a little too late to say it’s now or never
Perhaps someday I’ll join you where heaven meets space
In that other world, such a faraway place
