Alien kidnapping, or was it
Chapter 26
Even as Sam's eyes narrowed, his mind started to push, and he was shocked when he began to receive images. Images of a beautiful, tranquil, peaceful word.
Suddenly, one of the arachnid beings started to groan; please stop; I can't take much more. Sam immediately slammed the connection he'd opened and closed.
Sam then heard a great groan of relief, and I thank you, came the thoughts of one of the creatures.
All heads turned toward Sam, three of the creatures shaking a bit. The apparent leader nodded; if any of your people had developed this power back then, I am afraid we'd not have had a chance.
We are at an impasse for now, especially with those remaining of your people watching. Came Sam's thoughts.
I agree that we need a thorough discussion before we can act. We have discovered that your people are different from the power-hungry race we were led to believe. Yes, there is much we need to talk about before moving forward. The leader thought.
Sam was nodding in thought when there was a groan from a previously unconscious Triot.
What...? What is this? Triot's thoughts said. You are elite; these are our hated enemies; you should...
DO NOT assume to tell us of the elite what to do. You, who are a weak, pitiful thing that claims to be of the Tetricon race. It would be better to destroy you rather than listen to you prattle.
How dare you! I am the first...Triot's thoughts started. Suddenly, there was a strange noise as the leader stared intensely at Triot.
You were warned, you pitiful thing. I have no trouble in ending your useless existence. Came the rather loud thoughts of the leader.
USELESS! I have discovered how to increase my power; I will. Triot started.
A screech came from Triot, causing the others to turn, staring at Thantas. Her hand was against Triot's back, doing no more than glowing.
You forgot how you came to be in your present condition. I could just as quickly end you! Threatened Thanta's thoughts.
Ha! You are nothing like Sam; you are an original Clive Stone. You would never lower...Triot started, and then his thoughts were screaming out in extreme pain.
I started Thantas, have been tortured, used, given daily pain, and subjected to things that would have made you insane many times over. What I once was, I am no longer; IF you wish to find out exactly what I am capable of now, keep pushing the issue.
Triot started to retort when Thantas hand and arm started to glow brighter. Triot's screams began to echo through all their minds.
It is useless that you should listen and shut your thoughts up. The female Clive Stone may not appear so; she is far more powerful than you think.
The smirk that appeared on Thanta's face had Sam grinning. That was 'til he felt a 'heard' cry for help.
Let's continue this later, came Sam's thoughts. Touching Thanta's arm, a portal opened, and both were gone.
The four arachnid beings' eyes were wide. I can feel no trace of them! It's like they have entered hyperspace. These Clive Stones have abilities that we have never seen. The youngest of them thought.
Indeed, more study must be done before any action can be safely taken. We should deal with the last of the council. As long as they are alive, there's not much we can do to disobey. The leader thought, then looked at the two younger arachnids. Well, me and your sire, the both of you, are not constrained by those orders.
The younger arachnids nodded as the older two left, heading toward the IP home world. If it is, as our sire stated, this Clive Stone is in hyperspace, then he should emerge.
The second young arachnid nodded its assent; I concur. If we wait, I am sure we will detect them soon.
It was only a few moments later that Sam, Thantas, and a groaning Triot emerged near Queen Triada's world.
Mind yourself, Triot, or we might have to let Thantas loose on you again. He threatened Sam's thoughts.
Sam and Thantas landed with a thump, Triot with a much harder thump as he crashed into the ground.
"I hear, not so bad," a smirking Thantas stated to a louder groaning Triot.
Between gasps, Triot said, "I know that this display is no more than playing..." Triot was screaming when Thantas grabbed Triot's hair and then proceeded to kick him several times.
With his face almost even with hers, Thantas hissed, "I told you before. After what YOUR kind did to me, I am no longer like the others." Eyeing Triot with disgust, she forcibly threw him to the ground. "I can see that you are wishing for death; I don't think it is coming soon."
Sam looked at Triot, shaking his head; rising, he momentarily flew the distance to the others.
Landing next to Drivas and Thallus, Sam looked around. Finding no one around, he looked at the two females. "Where are the others?"
Both females looked up, as did Sam. Raydy and Mellos had three of the six others, bringing them back down. "I'm glad you heard me; they are floating faster and higher every few minutes. Is there anything you can do?" Mellos said.
Looking at all six, Sam nodded, then reached out to touch Triann. Sam pulled his hand away a few moments later, shaking it to Raydy. Releasing Triann, Raydy waited a minute, then nodded to Sam.
Over the next hour, Sam adjusted all six as much as he dared. He hoped the results would be favorable if he went farther.
Sam finally stepped back, except for Rycon's mate Natita; he felt they all had complete control. He'd checked on Raydy and Mellos, surprised when Mellos thought she was finished. That, plus the fact that she felt more substantial than Thantas, was another surprise.
The doctor had been following the elites since they passed the IP home world. When he felt the two Clive Stones vanish, he'd smiled evilly, only to growl when they appeared deep within Triada's Triad moments later!
With a shake of his head, his anger growing, he grabbed several weapons that hadn't seen the light of day for centuries.
Only a partial planetary time unit when the doctor felt their approach. A few moments later, there were two loud thuds outside his domicile. The doctor looked at the door, not surprised when it opened.
Even as the door closed, both arachnids were kneeling before the doctor. "Lord Melacon, we are here to answer the call of the Tetricon Council."
The Lord doctor nodded, looking at the two elites, "Arise our soldiers. I eagerly await news of your conquest."
"We engaged the Clive stones, and one is as powerful as us. The other we are afraid of is far beyond the both of us. We thought to report back; the strongest one had just fully recharged. We left our offspring to keep watch."
"I see," the doctor replied. "We have to end this vile pest of a race once and for all. They have only our destruction at heart. Leave at once, do away with this space trash!"
Both elites nodded as they turned and then exited the room. They lifted off the planet within moments, speeding back to their offspring.
I am afraid it is as we thought, the leader thought.
We have to act according to the laws set by the council and the elite forces. I fear this will end the race, a rather sad thought. Came the thoughts of the other arachnid.
Sadly, the leader nodded its head; I am afraid we have no choice. Like it or not, we must use our full power to destroy all of them.
With their power, I am afraid it will mean the end of us. The male has more energy than I have ever seen in a being. Are you sure that we can do this? The second creature stated.
If it comes to that point, we will have to destroy them and ourselves, which I am not partial to. We are the elite and are loyal to an end. When we are through with this investigation, then and only then can we decide. The leader's thoughts said.
The second nodded; you are the only leader of the elite left. As we have said before, we will follow you to our deaths for our duty, no matter how wrong it may be.
Both accelerated away from the IP home world, and they could almost feel Melacon watching them.
These elite do not feel right; could the conditioning be wearing off? I don't know if we can reinstall their loyalty without injuring them.
The winding down of several energy weapons had the Lord Doctor sighing. He needed them; they were, after all, the enforcers of his race. All the weapons he would have to have used were some of the strongest the Tetricons had ever created. At first, it was thought they were helpful against the Clive Stones, but that proved useless.
The doctor shook his head, and it was as bad as he thought. This Sam was far beyond anything he had thought possible. Flexing his legs, he thought, I might have to combine all of us to destroy him. Though, what of the others? They, too, were rapidly increasing, though how he wasn't sure. Could the Clive Stones have broken the code for osmosis healing?
With a shudder, the doctor hoped not, though that also might explain how Sam had grown so powerful. Then there was the claim he'd heard Triot boast of when he awoke to the elites there. Had he increased his power? He had taken out the primary and secondary defenses with ease.
Sitting in thought, the doctor started entering all his data quickly. "I need an answer as fast as possible. Use all scans before and all possible now. You can use as much power as possible to ascertain your answers."
A shocked arachnid face appeared on the screen, "working on it now. I had anticipated something to this effect earlier."
A thin smile appeared on the doctor's face; at least one of those left wasn't useless. "Good. I await your answers."
Turning, the doctor didn't see the second shocked, then proud look on the face on the screen. This quickly turned to a look of surprise as the massive amount of data passed before it.
The doctor grabbed several nutrient packs, settling to the floor to feed. He hoped things weren't going as he feared they were. He had to have some insurance just in case. With a wicked smile, the doctor nodded as he reached out and pulled.
Deep in space were two screams as two beings were drawn away from where they were stationary. Just as suddenly, space returned to its eternal silence.
"This is more amazing than I at first thought." Sam's mother, Triann, stated that all six of them were resurrected after she'd passed her scanner over. "I have never seen this level of control achieved this fast."
Sam blushed somewhat from the praise that his mother was giving him. "I am only doing as I feel is right; to me, this is nothing."
"Nothing? You don't seem to realize exactly what you have done. Not only are we completely healthy, but we also have complete control over our abilities and bodies. No, son, this isn't nothing; it is far beyond what we in the science alliance thought possible." Triann passed the scanner over all again, nodding her head.
"You have far exceeded our expectations, son." Sam's father, Fino, said. "When all this was started, we were hoping that you could bring back enough that your mother could keep alive longer. Neither of us thought that your osmosis power would grow this great."
Sam turned, feeling someone's approach. To his relief, it was Rycon, Raydy's father.
"I wish to thank you, Sam; we might be able to help you far sooner than we thought. I'm still trying to get used to what I used to do. I feel we are more ready than we were a day ago." Rycon said.
Sam nodded, "I am sorry I can't get you any closer. If I did, I fear I might do more harm than good."
Sam was about to say more when he noticed that his father was sitting, his eyes closed in concentration.
The Lord Doctor had just finished ingesting his nutrients when he felt the first powerful push. It wasn't 'til the pressure increased that he knew who it was. So, you're still alive. Thank you; I would have perished with the others if I had not been battling you. Still, I need to destroy you once and for all.
I was the most potent force of the mind, as you were of your council. I was assigned to destroy you; instead, I only managed to blast you off the planet. A small bit more time would have seen the end of the evil that was your council.
You can't win, though you are still powerful; you have nothing of the power you used to possess. I have my elite here; they will find you long before you can do anything. The doctor replied.
Ah! You might be wrong; I doubt that they could reach me now. The powerful mind's thoughts said, and then the doctor screamed in pain. Just as suddenly, the mind was gone, the doctor panting heavily, splayed out across the floor.
The doctor was barely able to rise from the floor; it was then that he noticed the puddle of his blood pooled beneath him. I didn't think that he was still that powerful. It appears that we are indeed at war again.
If this Sam was as powerful as the elite had said, the old mind warrior was still out there. They were in a bit of trouble. He had to think for a while. There was a solution; he just had to find it, much like all those solar units before.
Sam watched as it seemed only a few moments passed, and then his father keeled over. Landing next to him, Sam was worried that his father had been attacked. He'd felt a mighty mind nearby, though it seemed to push out. Looking at his father as Triann ran a scanner over him, he had to wonder. Was the male hiding something from them?
Reaching out, Sam could feel that the male was hiding something, though it appeared he wasn't the powerful mind. At least, at first look, it appeared so strange, he thought. Why did it seem that some were able to hide from him?
Sam turned when he heard Mellos call him. "I managed to get about half of the materials that you wanted. Sorry about the rest; I'd have to go outside the Triad boundaries."
Sam looked over what he saw, nodding his head. "It's good I can make a smaller place." With that, Sam moved at an almost invisible speed, a building starting to appear within moments. Mere minutes later, a small dome-shaped building was completed. There were several gasps from the others. "I thought all of you might want a piece of home, and I am afraid I didn't have enough materials to make it larger."
Triann and Fino again walked to the dome doors, gasping at what they saw inside. Running to Sam, Triann threw her arms around Sam. "Thank you. I can prepare to receive more when you find them."
Inside, on one side, there were several comfortable rooms and beds, and on the other side, full of medical and engineering tools.
"I am hoping that I got most of them correct. All this was in my memories, so I hope they are suitable." Sam said, eyeing all six of the adult Clive Stones.
"I'd say you got it more than right," came a voice behind Sam. Turning, Sam saw Mello's father's approach. A look of pride on his face, "this was much like we had at the end. Very durable and strong, it should hold up very well."
Sam, also a look of pride on his face, nodded as the six entered for the first time.
Why can't I wake up, the male thought; then I feel this nagging pain. It feels as if I have had the hell beat out of me; I... Where the hell am I?
A quick look told he was where he had been at his last thought. Though, why in the hell was it dark? Where the hell had she gone to?
Something wasn't right here; now that he thought about it, the pain was starting to grow a hell of a lot worse.
The male tried to rise, finding that he was restricted. With a yell, the male strained, then quickly snapped the restraints. The problem was the damn pain also increased to the point of more than an annoyance.
Damn it! The pain increased more than doubled. He had to leave here, the hell with that bitch, and she had tired of him. He was going to miss the abuse she gave him daily, though it had helped to strengthen him.
The pain was almost to the unbearable point now. Ripping his way out, he smirked when the place he'd been in exploded. He grabbed his head and pushed as hard as he could, rocketing skyward. Accelerating as soon as he hit space, he was quickly outside the range of whatever had caused all the pain.
Stopping, he stared incredulously at where he was. He recognized the first council's area of influence; he had helped all of them set up their areas that were tossed aside like trash.
The male looked at the skin on his arms as it started to shred off. Ah, good, the rest was starting to go; soon, he would be in his skin again. It had been far too long since he'd shown his true self. I wonder if they would still react to him like... Looking at the area behind him, what was left of his mouth dropped agape before it fell away.
He could feel it, the power making his skin crawl. He thought all the triads were gone; from what he felt, there were at least two, possibly three. This was terrible, very bad; he had to, no, knowing them, they already knew. No, they'd have to come to him if they needed him. After all, it was only fair, correct?
Well, he thought, an evil smile crossing his now non-humanoid lips. It was their fault they had said they didn't need him. We'll see about that, yes, we'll see indeed.
The doctor had just started to recover when he felt an unfamiliar power towards Queen Trada's triad. What was this? It was Tetricon, very strong, elite strength, though no elite by far.
Reaching out, the doctor demanded, who in the hell are you? You are as powerful as an elite, though I feel you are no elite. The doctor was even more surprised when Tetricon didn't answer and tried to hide. The doctor was shocked when the mind all but disappeared from him.
Angered, the doctor reached out to pull the mind to him. He was astounded again when the mind knocked aside the doctor's attempt to take it! This had to be the first time this happened in almost five hundred solar time units.
Shaking his head, the doctor put almost all his power into it this time. At first, the doctor had them, even bringing them to him. For the second time, the doctor was rebuffed as the mind almost quickly slipped from his grasp.
The doctor had never had a being slip from his grasp, never at the power level. He'd have to follow this one; if the elite didn't work out, this one would make a very powerful ally.
The doctor watched as the powerful Tetricon mind moved away from the triads and the IP world. I'll have to think on this: either this one can't receive thoughts, or it is far more powerful than I initially thought.
The male sighed as the false skin was finally starting to drop away. It will be good, too... a sudden buzzing in his head had him shaking it to try and clear it. When it finally stopped, it felt as if something had grabbed him.
The male reached out and smacked it away. Then, a second, more powerful power grabbed him; at first, he was dragged by it, and then the last of his humanoid body fell away. The male pushed back, drawing in his now freed power, feeling the power skirted around.
Concentrating, the male accelerated away; better find a place to hide. I'm still a bit vulnerable 'til I fully emerge, the male thought as his black body slowly started to expand.
Sam turned toward the sky, feeling the two titanic powers that seemed to be battling. One was the doctor's, the other he had no idea, the thing is? The doctor seemed to be going full out with little to no effect.
Hmmmm, Sam thought, wondering if whoever was going against the doctor might want to ally with them. Sam shook his head; the other felt like another Tetricon. As far as he knew, they never changed sides; he could be very convincing.
To be continued
