A Love Scene From My Life

Lauryn’s bedroom is dimly lit, with the soft glow of moonlight filtering through sheer curtains. Lauryn bows toward a large picture window, her nakedness bathed in its silvery light. Her face is buried in her pillow so that she looks like a woman in prayer to Muhammad. Joseph kneels behind her and lets her warmth radiate across the front of him as he begins to harden.

The atmosphere is charged with reverence. Lauryn's eyes are closed, her hands pressed against the mattress to each side of her faceless head as Joseph quietly joins her in the most intimate way a man can join a woman. Lauryn feels him enter and turns her head to the side so that he sees her smile. They remain quiet in recognition of the moment’s significance.

Joseph's face is solemn, filled with memories. He thinks of the depth of his connection with Lauryn. He lightly slides his fingers over Lauryn’s back and marvels that she belongs to him...at least for this season of life.

Joseph lets his hands slide underneath Lauryn’s pregnant belly and feels her warmth. Then he  cups his hands underneath her breasts. He remembered them as smaller and now marvels as how the human body prepares for new life.

Lauryn brings Joseph back to the present with a gentle nudge of her body against him. He realizes they’ve been frozen in time for several seconds.

They were wonderful seconds in their passing but now the natural rhythms of their bodies begin to find themselves as he gently presses into Lauryn again and again.

Author's Note
I was tempted to place this under non-fiction prose but it's my recollections of a recent night with Joseph. I'm starting to see how small episodes from life might populate a novel in the future. Picture is edited from a recent photo
