The stars shine brightly tonight
The stars shine brightly tonight
I see them, though I sit in a room with the curtains down
For they don‘t shine outside
They shine within me
This night, I feel like I have found my place
For this season of life
When will this season end?
When will I feel lost again?
When will the storms rise anew?
And will I ever drown?
These questions, which used to torment me
Have no meaning anymore
The almighty future
Has lost its power
I will do what I do
And be who I am
For as long as I can
That is the only truth
Forever

Author's Note
I used to hold back my commitment to my life because I wondered all the time how long it could last. I wanted to be invulnerable to the inevitable changes of life. I was scared that I could not do what I do and be who I am forever. And this is true, I will not do this forever and I will not be this forever. But I will be for now. And that is enough.
