Snowflakes

As someone who has been around for a few decades, I have noticed a disturbing trend among the younger generation. It seems like kids these days are more like "snowflakes" than ever before. They seem to have a sense of entitlement and a belief that they are owed something just for existing.

Instead of working hard and earning their way in life, many of them seem to think that they can just play the race card, the transgender card, or some kind of mental health illness to get their way. It's almost as if they see these things as a free pass to success, rather than as the serious issues that they are.

I understand that life is not easy, and that everyone faces their own unique challenges. But using these types of cards as a way to manipulate situations and get what they want is not only unfair to others, but it's also damaging to these individuals themselves. They are not learning the valuable lessons of hard work, perseverance, and resilience that are necessary for success in life.

I worry that this trend is creating a generation of young adults who are ill-equipped to handle the realities of the world. Instead of learning how to overcome obstacles and face adversity head-on, they are relying on external factors to pave their way. This is a dangerous mindset that will ultimately hinder their personal and professional growth.

I believe it's important for us to encourage young people to take ownership of their actions and to understand that life isn't always fair. They need to learn how to navigate challenges and setbacks without resorting to using these kinds of cards as a crutch.

It's also important for us as a society to promote inclusivity and understanding for those who do face discrimination and stigma. However, it's equally important for us to challenge this trend of entitlement and victimhood among the younger generation. We need to teach them that success comes from hard work, determination, and resilience – not from playing the victim. Let's work together to empower our youth to be strong, independent individuals who can overcome any obstacle and strive for greatness.
