Your arms are engulfing my light
and the darkness a pledge,
a vow.
You hold me so close
and tell me such nice things,
say that you love me
and that you want me
and you will see me.
But, no one knows
that I am who you want.
No one knows I even exist
in your world.
Are you hiding me?
Are you ashamed of me?
Have I done something wrong?
Am I not what you expected me to be?
Perhaps I am too young
and you fear the rumors,
but even then,
that's not like you.
Perhaps you don't want to jinx this
and lose me by announcing it,
but you couldn't even tell
your own family?
You say you're private
and it's something that doesn't need to be shared.
But your own mother
should know you have fallen in love,
shouldn't she?
I just want one sign...
Once, just once...

without caring if anyone hears...
