echoes & resonance

 
there are voices that will go largely unheard
because the content of their thoughts
weighs too heavily on the comfort of others
...and they will shy away
...in shame...embarrassment...what have you
as the voice continues its expression
undaunted...a little haunted...aware it's message is unwanted
speaking truth as only pain in healing can
as only the damaged soul who seeks solace
...who sees a world broken & in need of mending
...and is unafraid to do their part
daring to send honesty out into the wilds
where it will perhaps echo into humble silence
stunning those of similar heart
who will take up the message & continue the sharing
...and shunned by minds unable to accept
unable to comprehend
incapable of reconciling human beauty
with the cruelty inherent in the other side of its nature
preferring masked illusion to naked reality
they will falter & turn away
but those ears on whom such words touch
sink in & kindle hope...recognizing kin...
these are the receptacles of understanding
open to learning
also lost in the chaos that is humanity
striving to make sense of it all
...to find peace
and it is those souls to whom the voices
...much ignored by others...
will find sanctuary & take root
...to grow & spread
this is where they find their tribe
becoming a community...
...a family
