Cave Art...

In Hallowed Halls great art is shown
not bronze, silver, nor Pharaohs' thrones,
these artists dead, en-fossiléd grave,
our ancestors, the stone-age brave,
who left their art on humble stone.

Great Auk, Mammoth, in ancient tones,
arrows loosed, stones, spears, soon are thrown
full caught here, 'cept for their death groans,
in Hallowed Halls.

Hooked-horned Aurochs, the dappled roan,
for fifty-thousand years have roamed
the dusty walls of these old naves,
their temples then, their art engraved,
our seed to art that they have sown
In Hallowed Halls?
