Falling Goodbyes

I had a dream that I was falling forever here
Side by side into blackness unknowingly with who?
I looked over and realized you were there at arms reach
The look on your face was with much want and calm
Holding my hand out you took it and took it firmly
Jerking me into the warm embrace of your essence
You hum a tune of Beads in the Wind as I start to cry
We fall together into the darkness for what feels like lifetimes
Here, Time has stopped and nothing else matters
Safety in embrace as the weight of fear lifts from me
I wake up in my bed and cry that its a simple dream
Did you call to me to embrace me one last time?
I feel your energy released mine leaving me empty
I didn’t get to tell you how I felt or my truth from inside
I love you left unsaid but I fear you will never know
I brought this end on myself while I did walk away
Sitting in my empty madness I searched for you
Maybe it’s the library or maybe the bus but hope lost
If I encounter you again, you will hear my declaration of love
