The princess and the fool

These rocks are smooth

He recognized their every single move

The path heís treading after

Filled with laughter

Nothing new

Insists itís just a casual

Less than average afternoon

No trouble with his words

since he cast them at the moon

Completing lists of things

†heís been procrastinatingÖ

But heís smitten

And heís with it

Always traveling toward

His doom

Her clocks tell time too soon

Sheís sitting in her kitchen

Baking †bread crumbs before noon

Divination without placement

Spinning heartstrings

With no loom

Itís not that she has him captured

Itís just the way

her magic works the room

So the tragedy just had to be

The fact that he assumed

His path would be the difference

That she lacked but thatís too soon

And in this thereís a sonnet

So he sings her half a tune

But it's funny cause he always

Loses breath before he croons

But heís loud enough to lift

The kisses

From all the petals as they bloom

And she pins this on her groom

While he sinks back to the background

The only place he ever knew

Nothing else to do

But just miss her and resume

The laughter in the void of love
