I've sought no heaven since I've shared her bed
and hearkened to her snoring as she slept,
and even then, heartbeats happily leapt
at the hair slow silvering on her head.
Then, I pondered about the lives we led;
memories fast condensing into dream
in honey soft halo focus, agleam,
to crown how quickly all our years have fled.
Then, I weighed which of us will first be dead
bequeathing no arms for survivor death...
to lave the later loss, like Lethe breath,
yet as clear as puffs a Zephyr would spread,
to flutter like a Cytherean dove...
on us...and The Elysium thereof.
