Unspoken
As quickly as a memory is made, another can be devoured by yesterday.
Digested beats of my heart.
They exchange, days drenched in sweet heaven for days that stab of sharp pain.
But some moments forever remain.
Heart stains find permanence in my brain.
Remembering a time when I was sane.
Before the age of seize at the mere sound of your name.
Awakening euphoria in my brain.
Stirring places devout and deep in my veins.
Yearnings nestled in my membranes.
That persuade my entire soul to be haunted a sweet insane.
The pleasure is broad and thick as your memory intricately invades.
It's the unspoken in memories that never seem to fade.
Digested beats of my heart.
They exchange, days drenched in sweet heaven for days that stab of sharp pain.
But some moments forever remain.
Heart stains find permanence in my brain.
Remembering a time when I was sane.

Hi Lil. Thank you so much.
I think when the last line came to me it finally made sense.

You seemingly complete the conceptualization of the title and theme of this quite well. The analogy of memory and time is a great way to set up the poem. The way you carry through the characterization of the protagonist in this is good. It's like the unfolding of a psyche of a love lost, or perhaps longed for. The transitions and metaphors beckon consideration for companionship. I've found within this is the merciful sacrifice and patience for what's unspoken in such, in an analysis of self, and perhaps in reflection, or anticipation, or longing, or needing, etc. It's quite the invocative emotional disposition - the needing for others, in relationships, perhaps even intimate. You do quite well at capturing that in the narrative. Like you hold onto the memory of love for someone. Anyway, that's just some of my take. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Re. Unspoken
That was like Christmas. Thank you ever so much for all that feedback. I'm fascinated by memory, what triggers them, which stay & which fade. My mom having dementia, makes me realize how prescious our memories are. So I'd love to say I do hold on to memories of a great love, but that was imagination. This poem I just starting typing and playing around with the words, then misclicked and lost the poem. So this is the reconstructed version, lol. The last line just came to me and I was like YES, also fascinated by whether we remember what was said or happened or do we remember what we had silently desired more. Ok I could go on all day, lol. What I'm also fascinated by is how you deconstruct my poems way better than I could ever even do myself. I think if we ever went to a coffeehouse we could both close the place out, analyzing 😊 haha

Ha-ha, yeah, I love coffee. Memory, creativity, and reasoning in general are incredible components of the mind. They all become thoughts, words, and actions, which regulates who you are, and where you're going in life and relationships. Anyway, I find it inspiring that you're actually into writing about such a topic, because I have a lot of interest in things of the mind as well. Perhaps I can glean some unique perspective to add to my own awareness from your future poems, with all of that in mind. Take care!
