Bluebirds

Twilight came and blew bluebirds into your laugh
your eyes came alive and I knew
your honesty could bend gentleness in its perch

Sacred truth smiles while I hold his hand
winding down from his throne
In the deeper knowledge
he plays with time
While it ticks, I quietly observe
the mastery in the moment crafted

Universal doubt clouds your features
and I wrestle with the darkness you can't see
Shadows of ghosts praying
gather to kneel

Angels of the apostles
wrapped in long robes of judgement
beseeching in nature
they've come to gather the seeds strewn

While you rest
a host of the faithful came to watch
turning back time's hand
You open your eyes

As the bluebirds depart
