mortality

Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these
to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting
contempt.—Daniel 12:2

     imperfect rest
          that steals my body
     gone now the jest
          of life's parody
               here in this crypt
                    where vermin feast
               'tis nondescript
                    to say the least
                              but when my change
                                   shall come upon me
                              count it not strange
                                   death abandon me
                                             for on the first
                                                  resurrection morn
                                             mortal shall burst
                                                  from the earth, reborn
