Author's Note
Undetected sin in someone's life, and what goes on underneath the surface. Everyone has pride, and that's a part of life. When we hold onto indignation, thinking we're "right", this can often be what goes on, subconsciously. We contend with strife and each other. Has to do with obedience to the will of God, rather than infatuation with what one thinks. This could also be interpreted as a Satanic attitude and influence, not only in a person, but Satan himself. The de-leavening part has to do with repentance, once the sin is recognized and dealt with. I realize how "horrible" some of the attitude in this poem sounds, but behind the scenes, this is what can explode to the surface, if unrecognized and not properly dealt with.
