quick fact check...turns out he was right
I've spent a lot of years struggling
...with this & that...
studied my damage & explored my own dark
learned quite a bit about living...or not...
...and myself
I've had enlightening conversations
given free range to my thoughts
we live with the life we're given
do our best...give our all...
...sometimes it still doesn't work out
but it's no excuse for not trying
aiming as high as we choose
maybe we'll hit the jackpot...maybe we'll lose
my life may not have been perfect
...whose is...
...but I might still have more than somebody else
I had what many don't
I had a home, family & love
perspective is everything...
...so is gratitude
